Darren has over 15 years of institutional finance experience and has served in management capacities at BCT Partners. Darren is a registered representative in the US and a holder of FINRA Series 7, 63, 55 and 24 designations. His previous roles included Head of Cash Equities and Futures Trading for BNP Paribas, eight years at Morgan Stanley and a year and a half at BTIG.
Darren has start up experience at Broadform, an education-technology company, FlyClip LLC, a technology wearables company, and Housetab, a payment processing company. He has served on the Board of Director for Redi, a company that was sold to Thompson Reuters in 2017.
Logan has over 16 years of experience in complex asset management and banking structures. He is a seasoned investor in banks and financial services companies, and a leader in building and operating companies in fintech. Logan has managed portfolios of over $1 billion dollars for institutions like Swiss Re, and as the Founder of his own SEC registered investment firm, Balcony Partners, where he focuses on private equity and the development of quantitative strategies.
Throughout his career Mr. Sugarman has excelled in investing across the capital stack, including structuring and leading private deals for banks, providing him significant operational and underwriting insight into their inner workings. He continues to maintain a wide network within the industry. Early on, Logan worked for Accenture building information systems for financial services firms like E-trade and Wells Fargo, and as a system architect. He then joined Wall Street, spending his first years as an analyst/portfolio manager focusing on banks and insurance companies.
Logan is a long-standing member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, a CFA Charter Holder and has a named scholarship to promote entrepreneurship at Johns Hopkins University. He graduated with dual degrees in economics and psychology and a minor in computer science from The Johns Hopkins University, where he is a member of the Junior Board.
Lewis has spent his career building, scaling and operating global businesses in the regulated asset management and financial technology industries. As an effective business builder, investor and innovator, Lewis has founded or had oversight of over $70 billion in AUM (public and private), and built fintech companies through to acquisition. He is currently Managing Partner at Cadence and Permanent Capital - organizations focused on merchant banking, investment banking and technology innovation in financial services and fintech.
Throughout his career, Mr. Katz was a Partner at FS Investments (Franklin Square), a highly regulated asset management firm focused on alternative investments for individuals, which grew to $22 billion in AUM in 8 years. Lewis was the CEO and a Founding Member of 1798 Global Partners and Lombard Odier Asset Management, U.S., and Executive Committee Member of Lombard Odier Investment Management ($38 billion in AUM), in partnership with the Private Bank ($250 billion in AUM). Mr. Katz also held senior positions at top hedge funds and banks.
Lewis graduated from Northeastern University and has studied at Oxford University, Continuing Education. He currently serves on the board of several companies, and is an advisor or board member to several charitable organizations with principle focuses on diversity, healthcare and providing free college education to students in low-income areas. He has been an advisor/mentor to the top fintech accelerator in the country, since its inception.
Mark has practiced in all areas of general litigation and has significant experience in the Supreme Court of Bermuda and the Court of Appeal. Mark has been closely involved with the continuing development of Bermuda Fintech initiative and has significant working knowledge in relation to Bermuda legal and regulatory requirements and a plethora of experience in working relationships with Government administrations.
Mark was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1992 and subsequently the Bermuda Bar. He was a founding partner and later consultant of Wakefield Quin Limited and was appointed Attorney-General of Bermuda in 2012 during which time he guided important Legislation through Parliament, created the Civil Asset Recovery Authority and spoke on several occasions both locally and internationally on Bermuda's Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Know your Client (KYC) Regime.
Mark was an elected Member of Parliament from 2008-2017 when he retired from public office. In 2015 he was appointed by the Governor to the Electoral Boundaries Commission and was the Chairman of the Parliamentary Joint Select Committee for the protection of children.
BJ has over 23 years of experience in the financial services industry dealing with institutional clients globally. BJ became CEO of OCP in mid-2018, and is also employed as Head of Equities at Bay Crest Partners in 2017 to help build and grow the firm’s network across multiple products.
Prior to joining the firm, BJ was Head of Cash Equity Trading in the Americas for Deutsche Bank where he also was a US Best Execution Committee Member, Volcker Desk Head for Equities, and involved with the development of the multi-billion dollar central risk book. Before Deutsche Bank he worked in various roles across Wealth Management and Institutional Sales and Trading in the Investment Bank division of UBS. He is registered in FINRA series 24, 7, 55, and 63.
